Meaning

Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; there is no deity but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest; Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise. O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, Lord and Sovereign of all things: I bear witness that there is no deity except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own soul and from the evil of Satan and his [call to] associating partners [with You]. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from doubt and associating partners [with You], from hypocrisy and discord, and from bad character. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from sin, from the punishment of the Fire, from the punishment of the grave, and from the trial of wealth and the trial of poverty. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of affliction, from being overtaken by misery, from an evil decree, and from the gloating of enemies. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the decline of Your blessings, the change of the well-being You have granted, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all of Your displeasure. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from sin and from debt. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from hardness of heart and heedlessness, and from humiliation and wretchedness. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from an evil day, an evil night, an evil hour, an evil companion and an evil neighbour. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from wronging others or being wronged. My Lord, forgive and have mercy, pardon and be generous, and overlook what You know; indeed You know what we do not know; indeed You are the Most Mighty, the Most Generous. Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. There is no deity but Allah, alone, without partner; His is the dominion and His is the praise; He gives life and causes death; in His hand is all good, and He has power over all things. Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever makes Hajj to the House or performs 'umrah - there is no blame upon him for walking between them. And whoever volunteers good - then indeed, Allah is appreciative and Knowing.
